IceStone®

“Durable Surfaces Made of Recycled Glass & Concrete”

With this highly versatile product, not only do you get a non-toxic, “green,” and sustainable alternative to mined or engineered stone, but you also have a surface that does not contain any resins or plastics, and will not fade over time from exposure to direct sunlight or UV rays. In your home or office, Icestone is a perfect alternative for kitchen countertops, backsplashes, bathrooms, tabletops, conference tables, reception areas, bar tops, outdoor kitchens and any other surface where stone could be used.

Aesthetically pleasing and highly durable, IceStone surfaces are created from 100% recycled glass mixed with concrete. Considered a high performance product, it has two times the strength of marble and is long lasting.

A wide variety of colors are available including neutrals, earth tones, and vibrant, playful colors. Something suitable for both commercial and residential installations. Custom colors can even be created for larger commercial projects.

IceStone surfaces are created using green building principles and certifications. Which means the product and the manufacturer follow strict guidelines to help protect the environment and have earned a number of highly sought after certifications. IceStone is often selected not only for it’s durability and integrity, but its ability to help a project obtain LEED certification. IceStone also has NSF 51 Certification, which designates the product as suitable for use in food service areas.

Installation & Maintenance

IceStone slabs can be easily cut, shaped, water jet, inlaid, and mounted vertically or horizontally. Each piece of IceStone surface is a one-of-a-kind that can be honed or sandblasted to add extra texture to the finished product. Polishing brings out the luminescence of the glass, creating the effect for which IceStone products were named. IceStone surfaces can also be edged to suit individual tastes.

The fabrication, installation and maintenance of IceStone slabs follow similar protocol used with mined stone. Although it is similar to quarried stone, IceStone is unlike resin-based engineered stone, therefore the manufacturer provides IceStone Fabrication Guidelines that specify how to cut and properly install the product.

IceStone products are slightly porous, just like natural stone. Therefore, it is required that IceStone surfaces to be sealed with one of the recommended water-based or low-VOC sealers (please follow the sealant manufacturers’ specific instructions).

In addition, a Care & Maintenance Guide is available to help you maintain your IceStone surface. IceStone durable surfaces are strong and require basic maintenance to preserve their beauty and performance. It is recommended that you reseal your IceStone surface once a year, just as you would with quarried stone. It is not recommended to use bleach or ammonia-based or abrasive cleaners on your IceStone surface. Please call if you have any questions regarding your IceStone surface.
